Straw Hat Bandit Recently Arrested by the FBI

April 22, 2017 By Dean Lamori Leave a Comment

Straw Hat Bandit Attire

FBI spokesperson declared that the Straw Hat Bandit was recently arrested.

An FBI spokesperson recently declared that 57-year-old Richard Boyle, also known as the Straw Hat Bandit, was recently taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery. According to the man’s affidavit, Boyle has robbed at least 11 banks between 2012 and 2012. In 2008, Boyle was convicted to 3.5 to 10 years in prison, after he confessed that he robbed at least eight banks at gunpoint.

The Portrait of a Bank Robber

The Straw Hat Bandit’s reign of terror has ended – so wrote numerous news outlets referring to the recent arrests of 57-year-old Richard Boyle, a Doylestown resident, and the owner of an aerial photography business.

According to an FBI spokesperson, the Straw Hat Bandit began his criminal career in early 2008. Hearing on the news about an individual who managed to steal a couple of thousands of dollars from a Bucks County bank, Boyle began cooking up his plan.

Craig Penglase, Boyle’s former defense attorney, told the reporters that the man’s plan of pursuing a criminal career, threading in the footsteps of his Bucks County peer, have also been fueled by the man’s financial situation.

At the beginning of 2008, Richard Boyle’s company, a small aerial photography business, was on the verge of collapse. Moreover, according to the man’s statement, it appears that he was also faced with the perspective of losing his house and his family.

And so, arming himself with a gun and wearing only an ‘inconspicuous’ shirt, the man entered a bank and kindly asked the tellers to open up the safe. Before being caught, the Straw Hat Bandit, as he will henceforth be called, robbed at least eight banks.

In 2008, the individual was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and was facing a 120-year sentence. However, the judge agreed to sentence him to 3.5 to 10 years in prison. As soon as he got out of jail, the man resumed his career as a bank robber.

The Straw Hat Bandit Strikes Again!

This time, he came prepared. During his 2012 – 2016 heist string, when he managed to rob at least 11 banks, he wore a straw hand and had a paper bag-like mask on his face. An FBI spokesperson said that the Straw Hat Bandit robbed the banks located in Montgomery and Bucks County using a semiautomatic pistol.

Moreover, in his later years, the man managed to get away with approximately $500,000, money which he laundered through his aerial photography business. For his latest deeds, the Straw Hat Bandit might be sentenced to 200 years in prison.

Fresno Shooter Said He Killed People for Respect

April 21, 2017 By Amilia Allport Leave a Comment

Fresno shooter

The Fresno shooter surrendered to the authorities and is most cooperative.

Kori Ali Muhammad, the 39-year-old man from Fresno who shot and killed four individuals, because he believes that white people mistreat black people, told the investigators that the reason why he chose to murder so many individuals is that he wanted to be respected. The 39-year-old individuals, who claim to be a follower of Islam, declared that he didn’t want to be remembered as the individual who gunned down a mere motel security guard.

Fresno Shooter Claims His First Victim Was Verbally Abusive

As the days go by, more and more details are being made public in the case of Kori Ali Muhammad, named the Fresno shooter by the press. Fresno’s Chief of Police Jerry Dyer told the journalists that Muhammad’s deeds were motivated by gender and race, and moved in to dismiss his affiliation with ISI or other radical movements.

According to the authorities, it appears that the Fresno shooter has been most cooperative so far, giving the investigators detailed accounts of how he committed each murder. Dyer believes that Muhammad’s killing spree began shortly after gunning down Carl Williams, a 25-year-old security guard working at Motel Six.

Muhammad told the authorities that, on the day of Williams’s murder, he got into a fight with the individual. The quarrel soon turned into murder, as Muhammed decided to end the argument with his pistol. He told the investigators that Williams was most disrespectful and that’s the reason why he decided to kill him.

The Shooter’s Killing Spree Begins

To avoid being caught by the authorities, Muhammad hid on the motel’s rooftop. However, the Fresno Police Department managed to identify the aggressor. Seeing that he managed to outsmart the authorities, the Fresno shooter thought that he doesn’t want to be remembered as the man who shot and killed a motel employee.

And so, armed with his weapon, we went on to kill three more people before being arrested. According to Fresno’s Chief of Police, Muhammad murdered 37-year-old Mark James Gassett, 34-year-old Zachary David Randalls, and 58-year-old David Martin Jackson.

After shooting his victims, the Fresno shooter surrendered to the authorities claiming that he has no quarrel with them and that he respects the men and women in uniform. The individual’s murder weapon was not found on him. When approached with the subject, the Fresno shooter told the investigators that the weapon was stolen by one of his friends who talked him into turning himself over to the authorities.

Omaha Toddler Shot in The Face by Visiting Cousin

April 21, 2017 By Dean Lamori Leave a Comment

Weapon Retrieved from Omaha Apartment.

A 17-month-old Omaha infant was shot in the face by her 2-year-old cousin.

According to the Omaha authorities, a 17-month-old girl was rushed to the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center on Monday afternoon, after being shot in the face with a high-caliber weapon. The investigation revealed that two adults and another infant were in the house when the accident occurred. Both of the claimed that the weapon accidently discharged as a result of the toddler’s cousin playing with the gun. Authorities have yet to confirm the story.

Toddler Shot In Omaha Apartment

On Monday afternoon, sometimes after 4:00 pm, the authorities received a 911 call from a Pine Tree Apartments resident saying that he saw a man carrying an infant covered in blood to his car. The Omaha authorities managed to track down the individual, later identified as 22-year-old Marquell Buie, at the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.

According to the man’s statements, it would appear that his daughter got shot in the head while playing with her cousin at the man’s apartment located at 10375 Hamilton Plaza. The ER doctors declared that the infant was brought in a critical, yet stable condition and that now they are trying to keep her brain from swelling.

The odd thing about this case, as the authorities would discover, is that Buie wasn’t alone with his daughter when the accident occurred. Police records show that there was another man inside the house, 22-year-old Mosell Gulley, Buie’s friend and another toddler, a 2-year-old boy.

Infant’s Father Says Her Cousin Was Playing with a Gun

Buie told the investigators that, somehow, the 2-year-old boy, who is his daughter’s cousin, managed to get a hold of a firearm and started playing with it around the house. Not knowing that it was a real weapon, the boy pointed the gun towards his cousin and pulled the trigger.

The authorities also interviewed a couple of Buie’s neighbors to confirm the incident. Some of them declared that they’d heard a single gunshot from the apartment, while other said that they’d heard multiple shots.

A woman, who was awakened by the sound, rushed to the window to see what happened. The woman told the Omaha authorities that she saw an individual carrying an infant covered by blood to his vehicle. Moreover, it would appear that the individual was screaming.

So far, the authorities have not managed to confirm Buie’s version of the story and are waiting for the ballistics team to submit a full report. As for the toddler, the doctors said that the patient is stable, at the moment, but her condition is still critical.

Portland High School Student Shot and Killed Over Belt in Broad Daylight

April 20, 2017 By Amanda Lane Leave a Comment

High School Student Murder Scene

A 17-year-old high school student was shot and killed by an 18-year-old who wanted to steal his belt.

According to Portland, Oregon news outlet at 17-year-old high school student was recently shot and killed in broad daylight, near a fairly crowded light-rail station. The ongoing investigation revealed that the boy was shot by an 18-year-old who accosted him in order to steal the belt he was wearing. The investigators believe that the shooter was accompanied by at least one other individual at the time of the robbery.

High School Student Murdered Over a Belt

Portland Police Department reported the 18-year-old Kole Jones, a Gresham resident, was taken into custody and charged with the murder of 17-year-old Shawn Scott Jr. According to the investigators, the tragic events that led to Scott Jr’s death began when Jones and his group of friends saw the victim strolling through a nearby park.

Detective Erik Kammerer, the lead investigator, told the reporters that Jones and his friends kept eyeballing Scott Jr., as he was wearing an impressive belt. The group decided to approach the boy, with the intent of stealing his accessory.

Since the murder occurred in the vicinity of a fairly crowded area which includes a shopping center and a light-rail station, the investigators could piece together the events using the security camera. On the day of Scott Jr.’s death, a camera mounted at the light-rail stop captured Jones’s group approaching the 17-year-old boy.

Kammerer said that the surveillance footage shows Jones pulling out a gun he had concealed in his jacket and making threats. At one point, the teen seems to point his gun towards Scott’s belt, probably telling that he wants him to remove the belt.

Scott’s Killer To Serve Time in Prison For Multiple Charges

At the moment, the details of the high school student’s murder are a bit vague. For example, the investigators have yet to discover the reason why Jones decided to shoot Scott, despite him being willing to surrender the belt.

A couple of minutes later, Jones opened fire, killing Scott Jr. on the spot. According to the coroner’s report, Shawn Scott Jr. was shot once in the head from close range with a high-caliber gun.

Jones was immediately taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. However, it would seem that the 18-year-old boy who shot the high school student might also be charged with robbery after he tried to steal several items from a Macy’s shop earlier this month. A subsequent unlawful use of a vehicle might also be added since the individual was caught driving a car without having a driver’s license.

Hatchet-Swinging Suspect Arrested in North Toledo After Assaulting His Son

April 19, 2017 By John Cooper Leave a Comment

Hatchet Belonging to North Toledo Suspect

North Toledo man arrested after swinging hatchet at his son.

According to the Ohio authorities, a 63-year-old man from North Toledo has recently been arrested and with domestic violence and assault after threatening his 25-year-old son with a hatchet. Allegedly, when the law enforcement officers arrived to mediate the dispute between father and son, the suspect threw the blade towards his son. No one was hurt during the North Toledo domestic dispute.

Domestic Dispute Nearly Turns into Murder in North Toledo

Noel Dawson, a 63-year-old of Toledo, Ohio was sharing the same house, located in the 400th Block of Elder Drive, with his 25-year-old son. According to Dawson’s son, on Sunday afternoon, he and his father got into a heated argument. Seeing that he could not prevail, Dawson went to another area of the house and returned with a hatchet in his hand.

Allegedly, the man’s son declared that his father started swinging the ax back and forth, threatening to kill him. Fearing for his life, the 25-year-old man dialed 911 and told the dispatcher that his father intends to murder him with an ax.

A police car was dispatched to the man’s location, in an attempt to mediate the domestic incident. According to one of the law enforcement officers who responded to the call, upon reaching the house located in the 400th Block of Elder Drive, he found two suspects brawling. It would seem that shortly after calling the authorities, Dawson’s son knocked his father to the ground, and got on top of him in order to try and disarm him.

What Happens When Words Are Not Enough

The law enforcement officers managed to break them apart before the situation could take a dramatic turn. As Dawson’s son began telling the officers about the reason why his father threatened to kill him, the man allegedly picked up the hatchet and threw it at his son.

Luckily, the man managed to dodge the incoming ax. The odd thing about this case is that the hatchet managed to exit the house and gut stuck in the hood of a nearby pick-up truck. As for the hatchet-swinging North Toledo man, he was briefly taken into custody and charged with property damage, assault, domestic violence, and, surprisingly, with an unwillingness to disclose information of a personal nature.

According to the Toledo Police Department, as Noel Dawson was escorted to the police station, the officer asked him to supply some personal information. Not only did the individual refuse to answer any questions, but, according to the officers, he kept swearing all the way to the police station.

April 18, 2017 By John Cooper Leave a Comment

Baseball Bat Belonging to Pennsylvania Man

Pennsylvania man hidden in closet, stabs and beats his estranged wife and boyfriend with a baseball bat.

Sometimes, that thing that hides inside your closet might be more dangerous than an actual monster. A woman from Pennsylvania found this out the hard way after she had to be rushed to the hospital after her encounter with the would-be closet monster. According to the Pennsylvania authorities, a man was recently taken into custody after he hid in his estranged wife’s closet and beating the living daylights out of the woman and her boyfriend.

Pennsylvania Man Shows That Closet Monsters Are Real

On the subject of things you don’t read about every day, we give you the story of Jason William Beck, a 36-year-old Norristown resident, who broke into his estranged wife’s house in order to settle the score with the woman.

According to the Norristown authorities, Beck broke into the woman’s house on Monday morning and waited for the woman and her new boyfriend to come home. For the surprise to be even bigger, Beck decided to hide in the woman’s master bedroom closet and wait for them there.

Several hours later, Beck’s estranged wife and her boyfriend got home and, after spending some time around the house, they’ve decided to retire to the bedroom. As soon as the woman’s bedroom door closed, Beck sprang out of the closet in order to catch the two in the act.

What a Scorned Husband Can Do When Words Fail

Instead of confronting his wife and talking things over, Beck maced both his wife and her boyfriend. After blinding them, the Pennsylvania deranged husband savagely hit them with the baseball bat he was carrying and, according to the authorities, he also stabbed them a couple of times before leaving.

At the time Beck assaulted his estranged wife and her boyfriend, there were three children inside the house. Fortunately, Beck had a beef with the man and the woman and did nothing to hurt the children. It’s not yet clear who called the authorities after Beck’s attack, but the man was taken into custody without any incidents.

According to the Norristown Police Department, the man’s estranged wife and her boyfriend were rushed to the local hospital, where they received treatment for their wounds. The ER doctors said that the wounds sustained during their encounter with Beck are not life-threatening and that they will make a full recovery.

As for the baseball-swinging Pennsylvania man, he was arrested just outside the woman’s estate. For his deeds, Jason William Beck of Norristown has been charged with burglary, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, and trespassing.

Florida Man Breaks into Woman’s House, Gets Drunk, And Cooks Fried Chicken

April 18, 2017 By Sam Doliente Leave a Comment

Fried Chicken

A 34-year-old man from Florida was arrested after woman said she broken into her house and tried to cook fried chicken.

How would you feel about coming home from work and finding dinner ready on the table? That wouldn’t be too creepy should there be someone familiar waiting for you at home and not, let’s say a burglar, who decided to pop in and check the contents of your fridge.

As unlikely as the above-mentioned scenario might seem, it really happened to Samantha O’Neil, a 34-year-old Alachua County, Florida resident. According to the county’s police department, it would appear that the man involved in this theft gone the wrong case, is one of O’Neil’s acquaintances.

Florida Man Wants to Steal Valuables, Finds Fried Chicken Instead

Samantha O’Neil recalls that on the day the incident occurred, she was away with Melissa Stanley, her sister. Upon returning, O’Neil found the front door unlocked. Thinking that her house was burglarized, Samantha and her sister stormed through the front door to see what went missing.

Upon entering the kitchen, O’Neil saw 34-year-old Ronald Wesly near the kitchen’s store, prepared to fry some chicken. According to Samantha O’Neil, it would appear that the would-be thief was not content with merely breaking into the house to steal objects of value, but he also felt that the job could not be done on an empty stomach.

So, before making off with O’Neil’s valuables, Wesly poured himself a big glass of liquor and did not stop until he emptied the bottle. Of course, with that much alcohol going through your system, the need to eat a hearty meal grows more desperate.

And so, Wesly opened O’Neil’s fridge, took out the box of easy-to-cook fried chicken and began making dinner. The woman said that when she and her sister entered the kitchen, Wesly already took out the chicken from the box, placed a pot of oil on the stove, and was preparing to toss the fried chicken into the strainer.

The Wannabe Thief is Caught Fried-Chicken-Handed

Melissa Stanley, Samantha’s sister, told the reporters that when her sister saw the man trying to cook the fried chicken, she began to scream and to tell Wesly to get out of her house. Stanley added that the individual was so drunk that he couldn’t walk in a straight line even if his life depended on it.

The two women managed to pick up Wesly and to throw him out the front door before calling the authorities. According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, the deputies who responded to O’Neil’s call found the man wandering around the house, probably trying to get sober again.

Vermont Woman Found Guilty of Manslaughter for Pouring Vodka in Disabled Child’s Feeding Tube

April 16, 2017 By Tom Hager Leave a Comment

Vodka

A Vermont woman was recently found guilty of manslaughter for pouring vodka in her disabled son’s IV feeding line.

A woman from St. Johnsbury, Vermont was recently found guilty of manslaughter after poisoning her son with vodka. Melissa Robitille, 41, and Walter Richters, her live-in boyfriend, stood before the magistrates on Wednesday for the murder of 13-year-old Isaac Robitille. According to the Vermont woman’s affidavit, her 13-year-old son relied on a feeding tube to survive, as he had multiple disabilities.

Vermont Woman Offers Conflicting Testimony

On the 14th of August, 2014, Melissa Robitille, a freelance editor, blog curator, and author of sci-fi and paranormal books, was at home with Walter Richters, her live-in boyfriend. Robitille, 41, was the mother of a 13-year-old infant with multiple disabilities.

According to the authorities, Isaac Robitille, 13, was affected by blindness, had no ears, several developmental issues, a cleft palate, and relied on a feeding tube to stay alive. On that night, Robitille and Richters were mildly intoxicated with vodka. In fact, Richters admitted before the magistrates that he has a drinking issue.

As Robitille declared, Isaac was often predisposed to throwing tantrums, due to his condition. According to the couple’s initial statements, on that evening, Richters told the Vermont woman that a good way to soothe Isaac was to give him a little vodka. Both of them declared that, at that time, they didn’t think that a little drink will hurt the child. This is where the testimonies begin to diverge.

The Tables Have Turned for Vodka Case

Initially, Robitille told the authorities that it was she who fed Isaac the vodka through the IV tube, whilst her boyfriend was watching. The Vermont woman added that she gave Isaac approximately three tablespoons of vodka, a quantity she thought will be enough to allow him to sleep. However, while Robitille said that she was the one who carried out the deed, she later changed her testimony and said that it was her boyfriend who poured vodka into her son’s IV and that she needed to protect him.

According to the court documents, the couple was initially found guilty of second-degree murder. However, the charges were changed to manslaughter, after Richters agreed to plead guilty and testify against his significant other. For his role in Isaac Robitille’s death, Richters was sentenced to three years in prison.

As for Melissa Robitille, the Vermont Superior Court of St. Johnsbury found her guilty of manslaughter on Thursday. Reportedly, when the jury read the Vermont woman’s verdict, she exhibited not one sign of remorse.

Man from California Gets Punched in the Face by Officer for Jaywalking

April 14, 2017 By Amanda Lane Leave a Comment

Jaywalking

A Sacramento police officer punched a man several times in the face for jaywalking.

Be careful when you try to cross the street in other places besides zebra crossing because you might land in jail with a displaced jaw. Recently, a law enforcement officer has been suspended after a Californian Police Department learned that he punched a man several times in the face for jaywalking.

Jaywalkers, Beware!

A spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department recently declared that an officer was recently suspended from active duty after a clip posted on YouTube shows him brutally beating a pedestrian. According to the Sacramento Police Department, the officer, who was not named, punched the man several times in the face, knocked him to the ground, and continued beating him for jaywalking.

Facts about the Jaywalking Case

Here’s what we know about the case. On Monday afternoon, the police officer was in his car, patrolling the streets, when he caught a glimpse of 24-year-old Nandi Cain Junior, who was trying to traverse the street in an illegal zone.

According to the officer’s testimony, he told the suspect that what he’s doing is illegal and that he should head back if he doesn’t want to be fined. Allegedly, Nandi Cain Jr. acknowledged the police officer but decided to ignore him and to cross the street.

Seeing that the man intentionally ignored his warning against jaywalking, the police officer got out of his cruiser and to confront him. The two of them conversed for some time, with the officer explained why jaywalking is illegal.

At one point, things took a turn for the worse, and, according to the officer’s testimony, the individual got off his jacket and challenged him to a brawl. The YouTube video reviewing by the Sacramento Police Department shows the officer charging towards the suspect, probably trying to subdue him.

However, instead of trying to solve this conflict as swiftly as possible, the police officer started punching the suspect in the face. Moreover, at one point, the police officer knocked the suspect off his feet and continued hitting him in the face with his fists.

Obviously, the suspect was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest. However, after a couple of days, Nandi Cain Jr. was released, since the Sacramento Police Department could not amass enough evidence to incriminate him.

Upon reviewing the case, the Police Department decided to suspend the brawling police officer and to start an internal investigation. So, the next time you’ll want to jaywalk, keep in mind that you might end up at the police stations with a dislocated jaw.

Living in the Shadow of a Deadly Hoax – Michigan Boy Who Hanged Himself over Online Prank dies at Ann Arbor Hospital

April 12, 2017 By Dean Lamori Leave a Comment

Deadly Hoax

Tysen Benz, the 11-year-old boy from Michigan who hanged himself over an online hoax, has passed away on the 4th of April at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Harbor.

On April the 4th, Tysen Benz, the 11-old boy from Marquette, Michigan who hanged himself in his bedroom after being misled that his 13-year-old girlfriend committed suicide, has passed away due to his injuries at Ann Arbor’s University of Michigan Hospital, leaving behind a heartbroken family and any unanswered questions.

It’s difficult to pick up the pieces and to say for certain what went wrong in Tysen Benz’s life, the 11-year-old who had himself in the bedroom over a love affair. Having left no note behind that could provide an answer or some measure or comfort to his grieving family, at this point, Benz’s downfall is a mix of fact and suppositions.

According to Katrina Goss, the 11-year-old’s mother, Benz decided to put an end to his life after becoming ensnared in the malicious hoax. Goss told the press that her son’s road to perdition began the moment he started dating a 13-year-old girl from his school.

Although he never said it out loud, fearing his mother’s disapproval, the boy behaved as though the 13-year-old girl, who will bear no name henceforth, was his girlfriend.

Goss said that everyone remembers her 11-year-old son for his contagious smile and for being selfless. Tysen Benz was also an accomplished athlete for his age, enjoying hockey, soccer, and golf. Being the middle-born in a family of three, Benz could often be seen playing hockey and other sports with his siblings.

Goss told the reporters that her son managed to save enough money to buy a smartphone, even though she believes children of Tysen’s age should not meddle with electronic devices such as tablets and smartphones.

It’s unclear whether Tysen’s decision of purchasing a cell phone was influenced by his relationship with the 13-year-old girl or by the ambition of defying his mother’s beliefs on how children should be raised.

Shortly after purchasing the smartphone, Tysen Benz began to converse with his 13-year-old girlfriend via an instant messaging application.

As the authorities managed to understand, one day, the girl decided to pull a prank on her 11-year-old girlfriend. To this end, she borrowed the account credentials of one of her classmates and engaged in conversation with Tysen, purporting to be his girlfriend’s best friend.

Under this guise, the girl informed Benz that his girlfriend had committed suicide, giving him no reason why she would have taken this course of action. Seeing the message and never for once assuming that it might be a hoax, the lovelorn child replied that life without her is empty and informed the false messenger that he too would commit suicide.

It’s inconceivable how the 13-year-old girl chose to remain passive over Tysen’s statement. According to the officials, the girl made no attempt to discourage Tysen’s plans by telling him that he was a subject of a hoax nor did she ask an adult for help.

On the March the 14th, after spending the day helping his mother around the house, Tysen retired to his bedroom. This was meant to be the last time anyone saw the child alive. Several hours later, Mrs. Goss went up to Tysen’s bedroom to check up on his child, believing that he simply lost track of time watching TV or playing on his cell phone.

Upon entering Tysen’s bedroom, the woman saw her son hanging from the ceiling. She immediately contacted the authorities, who managed to stabilize Tysen adequately enough to be transported to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Harbor.

Regrettably, due to the extent of his injuries, Tysen was being kept on life support, until he passed away peacefully on April the 4th.

As for the young lady who designed and carried out the mischievous hoax, she was recently charged for maliciously using a computer or other telecommunication devices in order to send false death reports to Tysen Benz. Mrs. Goss declared that the authorities have been too lenient with the girl and believes a more severe punishment is required given the tragic outcome of her hoax.
