After the entire scandal revolving around Baron Trump’s possible autism diagnosis, the internet is now convinced that Donald Trump suffers from Alzheimer’s. Fans of the theory suggest that the President’s mannerism has declined over the years, his mood becoming fouler, and his vocabulary thinner. But are these signs enough for a dementia diagnosis?
Donald Trump suffers from Alzheimer’s Because He Doesn’t Use Enough Unique Words in His Speeches
According to supporters of the latest conspiracy theory, Donald Trump’s speeches – and here we refer mainly to discussions between the President and the press as written speeches are not taken into consideration – feature too many non-specific nouns (anything, something, thing), low-imageability verbs (do, have, give, speak), an abundance of filler words (actually, basically, literally) and far too few unique words. Adding his inclination to repeat his statements, and poof, proof that the President is suffering from dementia.
To support their theory, internet dwellers choose Ronald Regan as a pertinent example. As we all know, Regan was diagnosed with the condition at age 83 but began manifesting symptoms much earlier during his presidency. The quality of his speeches dropped considerably and, to the end of his mandate, Regan began experiencing severe mood swings and forgetfulness episodes.
When met by arguments of Trump’s vocabulary consistency, the former businessman always having a preference for a simpler, clearer manner of speaking, conspiracy theory enthusiasts presented additional proof that Donald Trump suffers from Alzheimer’s.
As any 70-year-old with an entire nation on his shoulders, President Trump has made some gaffes since he took over the reins from Obama. During an exclusive press interview he briefly mistook Syria for Irak, he was unable to spot Rudy Giuliani who was sitting right across from him at an event briefing, and he got caught up in the events when signing a pair of executive orders so much that he forgot to sign the papers.
Some are attributing these episodes to his age; others are claiming that the President is showing clear signs of dementia. Until a doctor, or a team, examines Donald Trump’s mental capabilities, the rumors will remain just idle pieces of gossip.
