The company has just launched a technology for you to find your Uber by color. The ridesharing service company Uber that is taking over the world, is releasing a feature called SPOT that will help both passengers and drivers find each other faster.
SPOT is a color-coded feature using 6 colors (yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, or green) option to choose from as the passenger waits for his car. He can pick the color which will automatically appear on the colored LED light that the driver will have installed on its windshield.
SPOT will also change the color of your smartphone screen into the same color so that the driver can, oh well, spot you faster.
The SPOT option comes in handy as will be easier to find your Uber by color on a busy street or when you go outside of a concert hall. This prevents you in getting in another car or another Uber due to poor lightening or generic car names, or even same color of the Uber cars.
For the moment, the feature will be tested in Seattle and if it’s proven to be helpful, will be used for other markets as well. SPOT is another effort of Uber in obtaining the perfect ride for its passengers by cutting off lost time from the minute the passenger orders the ride until the arrival at the destination point.
Other features of the app like mapping cars, back to back driving, driver destination or suggested pickup points help with improving the ride.
For obtaining the perfect ride, Uber needs to understand how much time is needed for the passenger to come outside as the users are sometimes late. They could receive a notification when to go outside to find their car.
With the new option for instance, passengers find and get into their cars faster, the driver saves fuel which leads to shorter car ride, happy passengers and more rides for the driver.
Finding your Uber by color could mean on the long run, more money and an increase in user retention for Uber. Also, a bigger hourly remuneration for the driver.
