Gay Lesbian Teenager Breaks the Internet with Edgy Yearbook Quote

The internet has just found a brand new hero of feminism in high school senior Caitlyn Cannon, who has perfectly summarized some of the most ardent issues of our times: wage equality, feminism and gay rights. Her yearbook quote of all things has rendered the internet dazed and confused.

Her thoughts on the matter were blunt and right on topic. She said “I need feminism because I intend on marrying rich and I can’t do that if my wife and I are making .75 cent for every dollar a man makes.”

One of her close friends posted a photo of Caitlyn’s yearbook quote on Twitter and the internet just exploded. It was retweeted 9,000 times and since then it has been spreading like wildfire all over the web.

It seems that people felt that her quote was so representative for all of these widely debated issues, that it needs to be seen by everybody.

This is actually why it was so revered by feminists and members of the LGBT community everywhere. The way she succeeded to reduce all of these endlessly debatable issues into one single sentence is what actually got Cannon everywhere.

People have been talking about feminism and wage inequality and the rights of the LGBT community in an overwhelming amount in the last few months and nothing managed to get as much attention as Caitlyn Cannon’s yearbook quote.

Nobody expected something so simple to become so incredibly descriptive of these issues and so, it has become a possible anthem of the problems of current times.

People felt that addressing such a tabu subject like “marrying rich” was so brave because it’s basically better to be upfront about it, rather than working your way around constantly denying it.

Let’s face it, it is a widely practiced method that millennials seem to greatly rely on for a good life and as soon as it is all out on the open, it is going to be easier to be honest on this matter.

Ultimately 18-year old Caitlyn Cannon managed to amaze the internet with her straight forward yearbook quote precisely because she was so honest. This is the most important lesson that everybody should eventually learn from this recent situation.
