According to a Glassdoor analysis, physicians and lawyers are among the highest earners in the U.S.

According to a Glassdoor report, physicians and lawyers topped the list of the nation’s highest earners last year. The company-rating services firm found that doctors cash in $180,000 per year on average, closely followed by attorneys who pull in $144,500 every year.

Next in line were R&D managers with a median annual salary of $142,120, software developing managers with $132,000, and pharmacy managers with $130,000. The report, which contains a list with the 25 best-paying U.S. jobs, also shows how many job opening for each career are currently available on the U.S. labor market.

Lawyers have to put up with the fiercest competition with just 995 job openings. By contrast, there is room for 2,000 more medics on the market every year.

Surprisingly, some of the highest paid positions are not in the management section. For instance, data scientists and data architects earn 115,000, and $113,000 respectively every year. An actuary gets paid $115,000, while a pharmacist’s base annual salary stands around $118,000.

Glassdoor researchers noted that the report was designed to help people pursue the highest-paying careers in the U.S. as 68 percent of Americans said that pay is the number one concern before taking a position.

Researchers also noted that the highest earners can be found in sectors that are shielded from competition or automation and require higher education and ‘in-demand skills.’ So, it should not be a surprise that the biggest paychecks are handed out in health care and the tech industry.

Nevertheless, investigators involved in the analysis noted that a big salary is not necessarily associated with a long-term job satisfaction. Many respondents said that healthy company culture and values, trustful managers, and career opportunities are equally important.

The recent report has included on the list only jobs associated with more than 75 salary reports from U.S.-based companies and entities. The analysis did not include C-suite positions such as chief executive officers, chief financial officers, chief operating officers and other similar job titles which fall under the C-suite level category.

The U.S. CEOs’ base pay revolves around six-figure salaries or more not taking into account bonuses and other benefits. The poorest paid earn about $73,000 per year, while the highest paid can pull in $130,000. A CEO position is also often associated with a high level of job satisfaction.

According to other reports, in 2014, the top three highest paid CEOs were Discovery Communications’ David M. Zaslav with $156,077,912, Gamco Investors’ Mario J. Gabelli with $88,518,411, and Microsoft’s Satya Nadella with $84,308,755.
