We are aware that there are hotels not just in the US, but all over the world, that charge customers for using their Wi-Fi. However, customers do not really have to despair. Why? It is simply because they can easily bypass the network of the hotel with the use of their smartphone. They just need to create their own personal hotspot with their smartphone. After that, they can already enjoy free Wi-Fi.
Hotels said that they tried to block personal hotspots in order to force customers to use their Wi-Fi with a fee. However, they fail to block it completely as the Federal Communications Commission did not allow hotels to block personal hotspots. Hotels that will block personal Wi-Fi will be fined, just like how FCC fined Marriott Hotel $600,000 for blocking personal hotspot.
