The New Hyundai Elantra makes impression.
Even if we are still in 2016, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra is here. Its design remained as special as always. There are already a few years since Hyundai and Kia have been on the top of the market thanks to their unique appearance.
Still the new Elantra’s design has slightly improved comparing to the other sedans. Furthermore, the gas mileage is once again excellent. The new model rates 37 mpg highway and 28 mpg city. According to the tests, if you mix the highway and the city driving you get around 32.1 mpg.
This economical gas mileage comes from the lightweight high-tensile steel which keeps the car at 2,811 pounds. This car has a 2.0-liter I-4, which provides 147 horsepower. Even though it does not seem much, its delicate six-speed automatic transmission is, in fact, enough for everyday driving.
As a plus, Hyundai introduced the Drive Mode Select button, which allows the driver to choose between Eco, Normal, and Sport. According to the tests, Eco can grant an extended fuel mileage. However, it might be necessary only if you run out of gas. Therefore, you won’t need Eco too much.
Compared to the Normal mode, the Sports one allows the Elantra to increase quickness and torque a little bit longer. The tests have shown that this pattern goes well in situations such as the need to switch lanes or to blend into traffic and of course if you are in a hurry or on a highway drive.
It is important to note that during Sports mode, the steering effort increases and gives the car a more responsive wheel and a sportier feel. The only disadvantage you might encounter is that comparing to other competitors, the ride of Elantra might seem a little bit stiffer over bigger bumps. But no worries, the rear torsion-beam suspension will do its job.
Regarding the traction control, this Hyundai has a standard one. Another feature consists of a dual automatic climate control, which is easy to adjust. Until now there are two models, Ultimate, and Tech, which can go up to $27,710.
However, the standard price is a solid, beautiful model, is around $17,985 including the six-speed manual transmission. Ultimately, it seems that Hyundai Elantra has made a good impression this year.
