Southern Carolina Police Department recently declared that the man who broke into a Lexington Sheriff’s Department clerk’s home and murdered her recently apprehended. After discovering the woman’s dead body, Southern Carolina officials arrested and charged 38-year-old Jason Donn Lee with robbery and murder. If found guilty, the individual might risk the death penalty of life imprisonment.
According to a spokesperson for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Jason Donn Lee, a 38-year-old man from Lexington has recently been arrested and charged with the murder of Lindsey Nicole Lee, his estranged wife.
The same spokesperson declared that Lindsey Nicole Lee was a model employee at the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. It would appear that the woman decided, sometimes, to distance herself from her husband. However, the investigators don’t know for sure if the woman’s decision was based on past domestic violence or if it was something else.
According to the authorities, Lee’s murder was premeditated. On early Monday, Jason Donn Lee, the woman’s husband, broke into Lindsey’s, located on Haleywood Lane. The man made himself comfortable and waited for his wife to come home.
Based on the murder’s timeline constructed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, it appears that the victim returned home on Monday, at approximately 8:30 am. That’s when Lee assaulted his wife, killing her on the spot.
However, Lee’s lifeless body was discovered the next day during a welfare check performed by a police officer. Since she failed to show up for work on Tuesday, the Lexington Sheriff’s Department dispatched a police office to check up on the woman. However, upon entering Lee’s house, the officer discovered the woman lying dead on the ground, with an incised wound to her neck.
The coroner’s report confirmed that the woman died due to severe blood loss. Shortly after, the authorities interviewed Jason Donn Lee, the woman’s husband. According to South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Donn Lee declared during his interview that he had not seen the woman. Moreover, it would appear that most of Lee’s statement were either fictitious or misleading.
However, on Thursday, the Lexington Sheriff’s Department aided by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s Forensic Unit managed to obtain and to identify the DNA found on the victim’s neck and on another piece of evidence which was discovered at the Haleywood house. The DNA belonged to Jason Donn Lee, the woman’s husband.
Lee was immediately arrested and charged with burglary, aggravated assault leading to the death of the victim, and providing police with a misleading statement. If the man’s found guilty, he might receive the death penalty or spend the rest of his day behind bars.
