Mortal Kombat X Won’t Be Available for PS3 and Xbox 360
Warner Bros says that Mortal Kombat X won’t be available for PS3 and Xbox 360. It seems it will be disappointing for gamers worldwide who were planning on playing the game on their consoles. The spokesmen for Warner Bros said that high gaming standards wouldn’t have been met on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Therefore, Warner Bros claimed that neither PS3 nor Xbox 360 would have fulfilled a tremendous gaming experience, as it would have been expected from the Mortal Kombat series. It seems neither variants of these consoles were suited for the quality gaming experience involving the fighting, blood-filled, gory game, whereas Community Admin Yorick of Warner Bros Games, said that they were sorry not being able to deliver the game as originally planned.
Not to mention that developing a game for two-three platforms is costly and difficult, so maybe that’s why gaming studios aren’t sometimes that keen on proceeding so.
So, basically, gamers who were eager to give Mortal Kombat a spin on their consoles had been waiting in vain.
But the good news is that those who had preordered the game will be able to get a full refund for the money paid.
Since nowadays games are expected to have high-standard, quality graphics and a rather complex game-play, it might be understandable why developing a specific game for older consoles, with lower capabilities, would cause problems to studios.
However, Warner Bros might have learned their lesson when they also released the game Arkham Night, which feature a bug that made them refund customers. The company had a tough time in fixing the issue in order to avoid further problems.
Gaming blogs and forums recommend that users switch to newer, last generation consoles in order to get a high-standard gaming experience, primarily pointing out that Xbox 360 and PS3 were outdated and the chances of studios releasing new games designed for these consoles were quite low.
Even Ubisoft, the video games giant, said that they wouldn’t be releasing anymore versions of “Fallout 4” or other games to run on these consoles.
However, Mortal Kombat X is indeed fully functional on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so gamers should grab it soon, if possible, as it displays complex characters (from previous versions) and enhanced gameplay features. A new story has also been conceived for Mortal Kombat X.
