The new Apple peripherals, including its Magic Track Pad, were presented at an official press conference this week, in addition to the 4K Retina display iMac. Apple has modified its line of primary accessories for various types of computers and is offering all-new wireless keyboard, computer mouse and a track pad, as peripheral devices.
The set comprising the mouse and keyboard is included with the recent iMacs, besides being sold as separate items by Apple, while its new track pad is an optionally available device for iMac owners (costing around $130).
The Magic Track Pad 2, Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2 have been remodeled to include a built-in standard lithium-ion battery. This way, users will not be tempted to charge reusable batteries in order to keep their gadgets working. The company is also offering a stronger internal structure and a quality feel to its new peripherals.
Out of all three devices presented at this week’s Apple official release, the second generation of Magic Track Pad is the most important device. This innovative track pad delivers Apple’s famous Force Touch action to its PC components for the first time. Apple included the Force Touch track pad to its Retina MacBook a few months ago. It has now allowed a fully active mobile model, called 3D Touch, on the newest iPhones.
The Force Touch function is lastly a way to differentiate loyal iMac customers from the rest, at least users who are ready to pay for Apple’s equipment cost. This is a known strategy by now for the giant American organization that uses higher prices to address their products to a constant fan base in the long term.
The ergonomic Force Touch option changes the technical click action Apple used for other track pads with the software-defined, client-controlled ‘click’ option designed to imitate a physical and responsive feeling. This is the intensely rumored haptic feedback with micro-vibrations replicating human activity on the track pad.
As it is the case with Force Touch on various Apple gadgets, this function gives iMac customers access to a series of new, pressure-responsive UI communications. Here are included the capability to perform a quick search of a certain term in the online engines, preview a computer file and display a map starting from a simple address. The newly launched track pad also has a larger area, with up to 30% more work space, according to Apple.
On its mouse and keyboard area, the new Bluetooth keyboard made by Apple has been packed into a compact sized system, which is said to take up to 15% less space on the PC. These improvements have been obtained thanks to innovative technical aspects, such as the new scissor system for important keys and its lower work profile. The second generation of Magic Mouse is branded as a lighter and sturdier version of its predecessor and has an improved platform for better glide for users who are working on it.
All these components can be paired instantly with their parent Mac components after they are connected to it through a Lightning charging wire. Apple says that each peripheral device can last around a month or even more with a single charge.
