Ex-Marine and Her Boyfriend Charged with Animal Cruelty for Shooting a Service Dog Five Times

Service Dog Shot in NC woods.

Formed marine and active soldier charged with animal cruelty in Fayetteville for shooting a service dog five times from close range.

Fayetteville authorities have recently taken into custody a former Marine and her boyfriend and charged them with animal cruelty. According to the couple’s affidavit, they are accused of taking the woman’s service dog into the woods, shooting him five times, and burying him in a shallow grave while recording the event and posting it on the woman’s Facebook account.

Service Dog Shot Without Mercy By Owner

Marinna Rollins, a 23-year-old Fayetteville resident, and Army veteran was recently imprisoned along with 25-year-old Jarren Heng, a soldier stations at Fort Bragg for animal cruelty. Allegedly, the couple took Camboui, Marinna’s service dog in the nearby NC Woods, where the Army veteran shot the poor animal five times from close range with a rifle.

According to the couple’s initial statements, the gesture was out of mercy, as Cammy was suffering from an unknown illness. However, the recording uploaded on Facebook tells an entirely different story. Marinna, who served in the army, had received a medical discharge. The woman’s medical records suggest that she has post-traumatic stress disorder. As part of her therapy, she received Camboui, a pit bull pup who should have helped her cope with the condition.

However, it appears that Rollins felt different about her service dog. According to the authorities, one more than one occasion, the woman tried to find Camboui a new home via Facebook posts. In fact, before the tragic incident occurred, the Army veteran wrote on her social media account that the service dog is on his way to a new home and, hopefully, a better life.

Fayetteville Couple Posts Dog’s Shooting on Facebook

But, it seems that fate did not favor the poor pitbull pup. According to the authorities, on the 16th or 17th of April, Rollins and Heng, her boyfriend, took Camboui to the nearby NC Woods for what appeared to be a brisk walk.

Before tying the dog to a nearby tree, Rollins and Heng took a lot of pictures together and, allegedly, consumed alcohol. Hend told the authorities that even though he’s the one who tied the dog to the tree, it was Rollins who shot him. What’s even more outrageous is the fact that the man recorded his girlfriend while she was shooting the dog.

At one point during the recording, Heng can be heard asking Rollins to give him the rifle in order to shoot the dog. Appalling enough, the couple seemed to have enjoyed this macabre spectacle, as they can be heard laughing and joking about the service dog’s death. In fact, Rollins can be heard telling Heng that she managed to damage the dog’s nervous system, as the camera pans towards Camboiu who experienced violent convulsions.

Before heading out of the forest, the couple posted the recording on the woman’s Facebook account and buried the dog in a shallow grave.
