The heaviest baby girl ever was born in India.
An Indian woman has recently given birth to a 15-pound baby girl, who might be the heaviest baby ever born in the country’s history. The baby weighs 6.8 kilograms, which is the weight of a four-month baby. The 19-year-old woman gave birth to the baby by cesarean section this Monday.
According to Poornima, one of the doctors, she has never seen such a heavy baby in her 10 years of working in the hospital. The heaviest one that she delivered had 4.5 kilos. The parents were happy and grateful that her newborn arrived safe and that she was healthy.
According to Kumar, the doctor in charge of the infant’s care, the mom and baby are just fine, and they don’t have any complications. At first, the baby was drinking 50ml of milk every two hours because the mother was unable to breastfeed.
Indian babies usually weigh between 2.5 kg and 3.5 kg at birth, meaning that the little girl is twice heavier that the average Indian infants. The baby was born in a hospital situated in the southern state of Karnataka, in Hassan.
According to Dr. Venkatesh Raju, local health officer, he had never seen such a big baby in 25 years of practice. She is practically a miracle as she the heaviest baby girl in the world and the heaviest baby born in India. Until now, doctors announced that the baby is not suffering from any health issues such as thyroid or irregular sugar levels.
However, the new India’s biggest baby is far from the heaviest baby ever born. Guinness World Records established that a boy born in Italy in 1955 had a record weight of 22.8 pounds.
Nevertheless, there was another baby boy born in Canada to Anna Bates in 1879, heavier the than the Italian infant. Even if the baby weighed over 10kg at birth, he died shortly after that.
Another heavy baby boy was born in 2014 in New Zealand weighing 7kg. It seems that there are many top babies in the world, but there is still time for others to be born. We can only hope that they will be healthy and loved by their parents because nothing is more beautiful as the miracle of birth.
