The Division Free DLC Code Is Up For Grabs

January 21, 2016 By Amilia Allport Leave a Comment

"the division skins"

You will have to wait a bit before inputting the code because the game’s site seems to be overcrowded at the moment.

Ubisoft’s game might not be out yet, but The Division free DLC code is up for grabs already. This code is basically 4 armor sets released in honor of the live-action mini-series called Agent Origins, made in partnership with several YouTube channels like CorridorDigital and RocketJump. The code itself is “AGENTORIGINS” and can be entered on the game’s main site.

In case you haven’t heard anything about Tom Clancy’s The Division game, it is basically a somewhat open-world third-person shooter with light RPG elements. The plot of the story revolves around a massive outbreak that wiped out NYC. You are an agent that will infiltrate the zone and shoot people while maintaining an over-arching plot line, that’s basically about it.

It’s somewhat safe to say that the game’s story will not be something that will blow people away. But if you do want a third person shooter that has one of the best stories to date, even if heavily influenced by Heart of Darkness, Spec Ops: The Line is the game for you. It will be extremely surprising to say the least if Ubisoft manages to pull out a story like that for The Division.

In terms of gameplay, The Division has been heavily marketed with the Dark Zone mode in mind. In this game mode, you will journey across NYC in search for loot alongside other players, being a somewhat multiplayer mode. But you will always be able to shoot your teammates and allies in order to steal their loot, similar to how Day Z approached the idea of multiplayer shooter.

After several people were invited to play an early version of the game, the main idea that arose from this press event was as follows. The Division is extremely similar to Destiny. You travel with your pack of agents across the map, shoot bullet-sponge enemies that do not die from one headshot, and meet other people in multiplayer hub areas. The main difference between the two games is that The Division seems to put a lot more emphasis on story.

Regarding graphics, they seem to have suffered a downgrade since the game was shown at E3. But this idea has become more or less par on the course for Ubisoft, with almost every game suffering from the same fate. It is worth mentioning that The Division has been delayed time and time again, so hopefully, it will actually work when it releases on the 8th of March, compared to the disaster known as Assassin’s Creed Unity.

A closed beta for those who pre-ordered the game on Xbox One will be on the 28th of January while PC and PS4 users will get in on the 29th. Taking into account that The Division free DLC code is up for grabs already, it seems that the idea of day one DLCs has stepped up a few notches, with downloadable content being released even before the game actually hits store shelves.
