Galderma has new over-the-counter drug against acne.
When it comes to skin health, Galderma has the best solutions to acne problems. The United States Food and Drug Administration has recently approved an over-the-counter acne drug, known as Differin® Gel, which was developed in the United States Galderma Laboratories.
According to Miles Harrison, Galderma Laboratories General Manager and President, many consumers will be excited as they will now benefit from an over-the-counter treatment for acne.
This gel is regarded as highly efficient in dealing with skin problems, and it is the first product that contains a new active ingredient in its recipe in more than three decades.
Harrison underlined that the product is designed to deal with various skin health needs. Based on the statistics, around 60 million adults and teenagers are affected by acne throughout the United States every year.
Also, 45 percent of adults use more than three skin products because most of them are not good enough to satisfy their needs. Many Americans rely on skin products but until now, only two of them have been available as over-the-counter treatments.
Consumers will not benefit from easy access to an efficient skin treatment containing a retinoid, which was proven to deal with the present and future breakouts. This retinoid has been prescribed by dermatologists over the past two decades to more than 40 million patients.
According to Philip Brown, Senior Vice President of Medical and Regulatory Affairs at Galderma Laboratories, the company wants to demonstrate once again their commitment to consumers that are concerned by their skin health.
Galderma will continue its collaboration to healthcare professionals, and it will invest in the medical field in the following years as well.
Differin® Gel is a health product that contains 0.1% adapalene, an ingredient that significantly increases the quality of the gel.
Adapalene is a type of active retinoid that is regarded as a fundamental method of treating health issues related to skin, according to the treatment guidelines from the American Academy of Dermatology.
Regarding possibly dangerous ingredients, Differin® Gel does not contain alcohol, oil, and it has no fragrance. Doctors recommend consumers to apply it once a day on the face or directly on the acne areas. The gel can be used by people of at least 12 years old who suffer from acne.
