Microsoft brings a new tablet.
It seems like Microsoft has come up again with a new portable device, the latest Surface Pro 4 tablet, which is one of the best Windows tablets on the market and close to a laptop performance.
Even if it is a premium tablet, when combined with the optional keyboard, it has the performance and the power of a laptop in an 8.4 mm thin and lightweight design.
Microsoft offered a more generous screen size of 12.3-inches and increased the resolution to 2,736 x 1,824. Plus, the screen has more accurate and luminous colours compared with the previous model. For home users, it is excellent for photos, games, and movies.
What makes it unique is that has the flexibility of a tablet and the performance of a laptop. It has an i5 and i7 Intel Core M processor with various storage capacities and RAM. Furthermore, it has a silver-coloured magnesium casing with very solid edges and vents with the role of dissipating heat. Plus, it has a weight of only 766 grams.
Another interesting feature is the new Surface Pen, which can detect 1,024 levels of pressure with a single stroke. Moreover, the pen is covered with a strong magnetic strip that makes it easy to cling to the tablet’s sides.
The keyboard has a comfortable size, with a short and wide touchpad positioned underneath. However, it lacks the requisite sturdiness to challenge a conventional laptop. Regarding other features, the tablet has an 8MP camera on the rear and a 5MP front camera. In other words, both of them are pretty modest, but the front camera is good enough for a video call or conference. Plus, they are capable of a full HD recording.
The device has a charging port on the right side which is not that cool, but the charger stays well put. You can also play graphic-intensive games, but it eventually gets noisy and warm on the top-right section.
Concerning connectivity, it has a microSD card reader, mini DisplayPort, headphone/mic jack, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) but only one USB 3.0 port. Battery life is also not so great, as it has a six hours duration for video playback purpose and only a four-hour duration for heavy users. However, Microsoft promised up to nine hours of video playback.
