Rocket League is an innovative game where players play soccer with cars.
What could be more exciting than playing soccer with cars instead of people? Maybe hockey, or even hoops. Starting next week players will be able to play basketball in Rocket League, and fans are overjoyed with the seemingly endless possibilities that Rocket League is bringing to the fans.
Tuesday, the 26th of April, Rocket League will get a new, free update. The Hoops mode will allow users to switch from soccer to basketball, and test their dunking skills rather than their penalty shots.
The new mode will be available simultaneously on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. And the update is free, so players will be able to enjoy it without spending any additional money, yet. There is a big possibility that Rocket League will launch a DLC pretty soon because that is the only way they can keep making money from their video game.
Of course, for the spenders out there, Rocket League prepared a separate pack that features all of the logos of the NBA teams. Now basketball fans will be able to sport the flag of their favorite team on the tails of their cars.
You can now play basketball in Rocket League, and the game just seems to get better and better. With the new, free update, players will be able to transform the soccer field into a basketball court. The goal is replaced by a hoop and a traditionally-looking backboard.
But there is nothing traditional with Rocket League because the ones scoring the points will not be humanoid characters, but rather racing cars or monster trucks. The update may also favor some of the players who were neglected during the original setting.
In soccer, you have to be fast, but in basketball, you have to be tall and bulky. So trucks will fare better than racing cars. The first also had an advantage when the hockey mode was released, bulky cars being better at pounding and hauling the puck.
The hoops Mode is free, but if you want to add the logo of your favorite basketball team to your car, you will have to pay $2 for the extra customizable option.
First, there was soccer, then hockey, now basketball. Maybe baseball, volleyball, and football will be next. The only sure thing is the fact that Rocket League creators hinted at a collaboration with Euro Truck Simulator. Maybe they have sumo in mind.
You will be able to play basketball in Rocket League starting the 26th of April. The update is available for OC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 users.
