What started as a 911 call about the missing of a mother and her children has ended up with a murder investigation after their bodies have been found shot to death.
Police officers from New Orleans made a horrifying discovery when they came across the dead bodies of a woman who had been reported missing along with her two children. The three were found laying breathless inside a car which was parked on an isolated street from the easter part of New Orleans. It seems that the woman and her children had died because of gun shoots.
Michelle McCullum of only 25 years old along with her 3 year old toddler Cylie Nicole McCullum and her older brother, 5 year old Caden Nicholas McCullum have been last seen alive earlier that night, around 10 p.m.
The night before, allegedly she confessed to her family members that she had suicidal and homicidal thoughts and that she was holding a fire arm.It appears that her intention was to kill her children after which she was planning to take her own life, police reports have stated.
According to police reports, it appears that the woman left her house around 10 p.m. and made a call to her mother close to midnight. As she was talking to her mother, it appears she told her that she had too many personal problems which made her think about taking her own life and the life of her children.
Her mother immediately called the police and informed them about the situation. NOPD Michael Harrison state that they received a call from McCullums family past midnight and was told that McCullum and her children were missing, moreover that she might try to kill herself and her children as she was not rational.
Police officials tried to locate the woman through the GPS on her phone but unfortunately her cell phone was off.
After the call, police has started to look for the three. Thursday morning someone called 911 and told them they had seen the woman’s car, a navy Nissan Murano from 2014, parked in the eastern region of New Orleans and that it seemed there warded bodies inside it.
At the murder scene there was found a weapon of 40 caliber, according to officials reports. When arriving at the location, police confirmed that the three bodies inside the car were dead, but they did not mention whether they were dealing with a murder-suicide case.
It was later proven that the gun belonged to McCullum and her family helped her to keep it. It seems that she managed to recover her gun, but police officers failed to find out when was the gun brought back to her possession or what was the reason her family was keeping it for her.
