Numerous brides-to-be can now blame their wedding nightmare on a national retailer. If they were waiting for Alfred Angelo to prepare their wedding gowns, a bankruptcy filing shattered the dreams for a perfect most important day in someone’s life. The store closed its doors to cope with financial issues, while many couples were left with questions answered.
Alfred Angelo Closed 60 Stores without Any Notice to Its Customers
On Thursday night, there were 60 bridal stores that were closed without due notice. The company had just filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The company with headquarters in Delray Beach, Florida has other 1,400 locations to display its merchandise. Despite the seemingly low rate of closed stores, brides who resorted to them to turn them into princesses were caught in a frenzy. Some of them tried to track down their wedding gowns, while other gazed hopelessly at their precious projects through the shop window.
Many interviewed brides-to-be reported that this news put them in complicated situations. Some of them had their scheduled wedding day in a few weeks while most of their bridesmaids didn’t have any outfit ready. Others discovered that they not only remain without their dream dress, but they would also not get any refund for their order either.
The company made no announcement of this sort on their official website or social media profile. The last Alfred Angelo tweet appeared last Tuesday with nothing but a fantasy fishtail wedding dress with the message “That mermaid life.”
The only statement on behalf of the company showed up on Sunday through a bolded message on the official website. The text contained an apology and the explanation the brides-to-be needed four days earlier. On top of that, the company announced that there would be updates on the order status for their clients on the same site as soon as they become available to them.
Rival Bridal Chains Offered Their Help to Angelo Customers with Their Wedding Gowns
Patricia Ann Redmond is the lawyer that represents this company. She stated that she had urged all shops to deliver their unfinished dresses to their owners before their doors closed. However, not all of them complied with this request.
Rival bridal companies stepped in to help the damsels in distress with discounting dresses. One of them was Enchanted Bridal that has already managed to fix this issue for many couples. However, not all of them got exactly what they wanted in the first place.
