We all know that the best way to take it easy and to forget about all those pesky work-related problems is to head to the bedroom and to fool around in the sheets. And now, a team of researchers confirmed that not only sex is a great stress reliever and mood enhancer, but that it’s also a great way to improve work performance. The findings are based on two-week clinical trial, involving approximately 160 married employees.
Nowadays, stress is considered one of the leading causes of several potentially life-threatening conditions such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, and heart disease. Although we try out best to avoid stress, there are some things in life, which are simply too hard to handle.
Probably most of you can recall what it’s like to have a hard day at the office. Moody customers, rude colleagues, work piling up, and managers who seem hell bent of putting you in a bad light – all of these circumstances can bring about a bad case of stress.
Now, the first thing that gets affected by a stressful work environment is our love life. We know that it’s a good idea to keep work-related stuff issues out of the house, but, in reality, it’s just too hard to break loose.
A team of scientists from the Oregon State University’s College of Business has observed that, more than often, married couples have trouble getting intimate, especially after a bad day at the office. However, in a recent study published in the Journal of Management, the team of researchers proved that this vicious cycle could be interrupted if the couple finds more time to fool around in the bedroom.
The study, which was based on a clinical trial, concluded that married couples who had sex each day saw an increase in office performance. During the clinical trial, approximately 160 married employees from several companies were monitored for two weeks and were asked to answer a few questions about how often they engaged in sexual activities.
The team has observed that couples who made sex each day were happier, more motivated, and had an increase office performance. To conclude the study, the scientists wrote that sexual intercourse is a natural mood enhancer and stress reliever. Furthermore, they also pointed out that couples should make more time for bedroom activities, even though they feel overwhelmed by work-related issues.
