There are many people out there who may find Neil deGrasse Tyson’s attitude a bit annoying. He can sometimes become that know-it-all fellow who thinks that he is right in everything he does and says. But if there is one think he does right, that is proving a point. This is what he recently did in regards with the recent craze about the Earth actually being flat. The astrophysicist directed his latest remarks at this theory and its supporters who are called flat-Earthers.
This group of people are so convinced that they are right that one of them, a limousine driver, is planning to launch himself into orbit. He wants to bring back photographic proof that the Earth is one big disk we are all sitting on. But deGrasse Tyson won’t simply stand by look at this craze unfolding. This is why he recently shut down this theory with one single Twitter post.

On Sunday, the astrophysicist tweeted a photo which shows the moon with a shadow over it, in horizontal position. Underneath the photo, he wrote that the image showed a lunar eclipse. The image is obviously photoshopped and has the purpose of making fun of this crazy theory.
Actually, this is not the first time he went after the flat-Earthers. Rapper B.o.B., one of the fiercest supporters of this theory, was one of Tyson’s first victims. However, this time, he ahs taken a different and more non-verbal approach. He let the photo speak for itself.
The idea is that during a lunar eclipse, we see the moon go completely dark. This is possible because of the Earth’s huge size and shape, which is round. If our planet was indeed a disk, the result we would have seen during a lunar eclipse would have been Tyson’s altered photo. This is obviously not true but it’s fun try and convince those flat-Earthers otherwise. Especially for Neil deGrasse Tyson who loves to be the one who’s right.
