During the MWC 2017, Lenovo presented its latest 2-in-1 solution, the Miix 320. This was presented as one of the company’s most affordable Windows 10 tablet laptops.
MWC or the Mobile World Congress 2017 came with a new product from Lenovo. The company took the chance to introduce the IdeaPad Miix 320 2-in-1. This was presented as one of the most affordable Windows 10 powered tablets/laptops.
According to the company, their newest product could be especially useful to on-the-go users. More exactly, it presented it as being particularly useful for freelance bloggers and part-time workers. And also for Uber drivers and online sellers.
Miix 320’s most noticeable feature is its 2-in-1 option. The device can be used as both a laptop and a tablet. When used as a tablet, it is just 0.4 inches thick. And as the user attaches the removable keyboard, its total size increases to just 0.7 inches thick. In total, the combined device weighs about 2.24 pounds.
The Miix 320 detachable keyboard is based on a magnetic system. These attachment clips should be easy to connect. But at the same time, they should also be sturdy enough so as to maintain their position. The keyboard system will not come with backlighting, but the keys should have a good typing response rate.
The ThinkPad Miix 320 will come with a 10.1-inch screen. It will have a 1920 x 1200 pixels touchscreen display with Intel HD graphics. Miix 320 will be readily available with 4GB of RAM and almost up to 128GB eMMC storage. This will be powered by an Intel Atom X5 processor.
One of the device’s biggest advantages should be its battery life. Lenovo teased a 10-hours worth of battery runtime for standard usage. As such, the company considers it one of Miix 320’s strongest suits. If proven true, a single charge should ensure a full day of work and even some battery left to spare.
Lenovo Miix 320 will be coming with a 5 MP rear camera and also a 2 MP front facing one. These should be helpful in video conversations. The laptop/tablet will be running on Windows 10. Its Windows Continuum support should offer a smooth transition between its modes.
As such, the user should not experience lagging when switching from laptop to tablet mode. Or for the opposite. Besides its current Windows Continuum, Lenovo also promised additional support.
The company will be looking to introduce new features and options to the Miix 320. For example, it is reportedly looking to add Active Pen support. But additional details on this matter have yet to be released.
Miix 320 will come with a standard USB 3.0 Type-C port. It will also be offering a micro HDMI and a microSD port and 2 USB 2.0 ones. An audio jack was not forgotten.
Starting with July 2017, Miix 320 will also reportedly be offering some additional features in select markets. These may include the aforementioned Active Pen and 4G LTE support as well as a 1 year Microsoft Office 365 subscription.
All in all, the Lenovo Miix 320 should be an easy to carry, very affordable variant. Its price has been set at $199.99. And it was introduced as one of the best options for on the go professionals. The Miix 320 is set to become available starting with April 2017.
