The Oregon authorities reported that the 9-year-old Native American child who was reported missing on Monday night has been found and returned to her parents. At this moment, the law enforcement officers have no clue regarding why the girl attempted to run away from home or who was the young couple who helped the Native American child purchase a train ticket at the Gresham station.
According to some of the tweets posted on the Oregon Police Department’s account, Elisa Salmeron, a 9-year-old Native American child was reported missing on Monday. Salmeron’s parents declared they’d asked the girl to take out the trash on Monday night, but she never returned.
Alarmed by the event, Elisa’s parents contacted the law enforcement authorities in an attempt to learn the child’s whereabouts. After reviewing several security tapes, the Oregon authorities discovered that half an hour after her parents reported her disappearance, the girl was seen at the Gresham train station, preparing to board the train.
Moreover, according to police reports, the 9-year-old Native American child was not alone, but in the company of two adults and a smaller child. Elisa Salmeron was last seen getting off the train, a station located between Burnside and the 148th Street.
However, according to a tweet posted on Tuesday, the authorities were able to find the missing 9-year-old girl and to bring her home to her loving family. But the girl’s reappearance raised, even more, questions.
For example, at the moment, the authorities haven’t been able to established why the child decided to run away from home. Moreover, the officers were still not able to determine if the girl knew the couple and the child or if it was a random meeting.
The good news is that there is no evidence of foul play. In addition, according to the Salmeron’s statements, the young couple who escorted her just happened to be around the station at the time the girl tried to buy a ticket.
Elisa told the officer that the cashier refused to give her the ticket and that the young couple bought her the ticket she needed. The investigation into Elisa Salmeron’s disappearance is far from over, as the law enforcement office are still trying to determine the reason why the little girl decided to run away from home on Monday night.
At the moment, they are looking into the family’s history and interviewing neighbors to see if there are any signs of domestic violence.
