Although Christmas is still a month away, PayPal has decided to rewards its customer with an early gift that comes in the form of Siri integration. According to the company, iOS users will now be able to send and to receive money through PayPal using Siri’s voice commands.
In anticipation of the holidays, PayPal has decided to enlist the help of one of the most popular voice-driven assistant on the market – Siri. PayPal said that nowadays P2P (peer-to-peer) money transactions are becoming more popular.
To make the service even easier to use, PayPal has just published the new application in Apple’s store. This new and updated app will allow the user to perform the same monetary operations over a voice-assistant interface.
How does this work? Let’s say that you owe someone $50. So, instead of using your regular mobile banking service to transfer the money, you can now tell Siri what to do. Simply open the application and say: “ Siri, send $50 to Sam.”
Within a matter of seconds, the sum of money will be taken from your account and deposited in the other person’s account. Please note that this application works only with close friends and family members.
Since you will need to supply bank account numbers to Siri, the application momentarily cannot be used to perform monetary transactions outside your friends/family circle. Still, it’s a great way to pay back old debts, and, of course, to receive money from your mother, father, sister, brother, or SO if you are low on cash.
To perform this operation simply say: “Siri, ask Dad to send me $100”. In a couple of seconds, the other person will receive the notification. He can either hit accent, in which case 100 bucks will magically appear in your bank account or decline.
The Siri integration was a smart move on behalf of PayPal. In fact, according to the company official projections, after the implementation of Siri integration, the number of P2P transactions will increase to over 17 million over the next months.
Moreover, it would also seem that the latest PayPal update has been made available in over 30 countries so far. In order to use PayPal with Siri integration, you must have iOS v.10 installed on your handset. If you do, then head over to Apple’s online store and download the app.
