At the Tencent WE Summit in Beijing, renowned physicist Stephen Hawking had some reveals to make regarding the direction our world is going to. He also talked about how life on Earth is going to disappear in a number of years if we don’t do something and how the planet will most probably perish in flames. According to him, Earth will most probably become a large ball of fire in about 600 years. And it’s all because of the continuously growing population and the enormous power consumption.
At the same event, Hawking said that humans need to act as soon as possible if they want to make sure that the human race will survive another million years on this planet. One idea would be to go beyond the known limits and do what no human has ever done before. People need to be bold and dare if they want to survive. Otherwise, the prospects are not good at all.
Stephen Hawking warns the population
As for our planet turning into a huge fiery ball, the British physicist said that this will happen because of the enormous energy consumption. As the population on Earth continues to grow, this situation will only become worse. Eventually, the planet will no longer withstand it and will explode, destroying all signs of human life.
According to a recent report, Hawking is calling to investors to support his plan to travel to the star that is the closest to our solar system. One there, people might be able to find a habitable planet orbiting it. It’s worth noting that scientists know what is the closest star to our solar system. It’s Alpha Centauri, which is only four billion light-years away.
Scientists are hoping that one of its orbiting planets might prove to be the best choice when it comes to relocating from Earth.
