The future of U.S. defenses comes from its next defense secretary, Ashton Carter. Aside from the issues in his home country, he also faces huge unforeseen crises abroad that can explode without a warning.
According to Chuck Hagel, the future former secretary of defense, his job was not as easy as he thought it was. Hagel did not think that the deadly Ebola would require deployment of U.S. troops in West Africa or in Iraq. A current issue in Iraq calls for Carter’s decision in the coming months which is to decide to help Iraq in its counteroffensive pursuit for regaining lost territory of northern Mosul city.
