5. Don’t Freak Out! Type 2 Diabetes is manageable.
Most patients diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes freak out when they hear the diagnosis. There’s no need for concern. Instead of worrying about what can disease do to your body, remain calm and try to find out as much as you can about your condition.
It would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about the diagnosis and ask him or her for advice. Please refrain as much as possible for searching about the disease on Google, since this will only enforce your negative emotions.
4. Always keep sugar around the house
The first thing your doctor will tell you is cut out on your daily sugar intake. But this doesn’t mean that you have to throw all sugar or sugar-based foods in the trash can.
Keep some sugar or some chocolate around the house in case you have a low blood sugar episode. In addition, when purchasing food from the supermarket, make sure that it does not contain a lot of sugar.

If you’ve been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, you should avoid eating stuff like red meat, dairy products that a high-fat percentage, processed foods, and, bacon. Consider replacing your meals with foods that are packed with omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon, herring, and mackerel.

Patients diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes will have to monitor their blood sugar level closely. Based on the readings, you’ll have to adjust your daily dose of insulin accordingly. Your doctor will tell how frequent these reading should be.

Losing weight will help you normalize your blood sugar levels and lower your cholesterol. Take long hikes, hit the gym a couple of times per week, roll out your bike – anyone of these physical activities will help you stay healthy.
